I’m a total sucker for newborns. The teeny toes, the wrinkly skin, the chaotic hair tufts—I even have a weirdly high tolerance for the diapers. So when this adorable little lady made her debut, I basically manifested my way into the hospital room. I’ve known these parents for years, and after hearing they were expecting their first child, I "convinced" (read: aggressively volunteered) them to let me document the magic.
The beautiful chaos
Walking into a Fresh 48 session is like entering a high-stakes, low-sleep alternate reality. The room was a whirlwind of feedings, diaper hauls, and that distinct "we haven't slept since 2024" energy. But honestly? It was perfect. Mom and Dad—especially Dad, who has officially reached Peak Excitement—couldn't keep their hands off her. You’ll see their hands in almost every shot; not only does it add some gorgeous depth to the photos, but it’s a literal play-by-play of how obsessed they are with their new roommate.
perfectly imperfect
Let’s be real: Fresh 48 sessions are usually a mess. When the baby decides it’s lunchtime, the schedule goes out the window. But that’s the secret sauce! By the time I’m done editing, you’d never know the room felt like a frantic game of Tetris. Everything looks calm, clean, and just the right amount of "perfectly-imperfect."
a note to the mamas
I know, I know. You feel like you’ve been hit by a freight train. You’re puffy, exhausted, and "brushing your hair" is currently a low-priority luxury. If you want to stay behind the scenes, I totally respect your boundaries—but I’m going to nudge you to get in at least one shot. Years from now, you won't care about the dark circles. You’ll look at these and think, "Look at me, surviving on zero sleep and keeping a whole person alive. I deserve a literal medal." (Spoilers: You do.)
Can you smell that "new baby" scent through the screen yet? Because I’m still swooning.
